War es Narzißmus – oder war es die Liebe?

War es Narzißmus
oder war es die Liebe,
die mich rief, die mich
anzog, die von mir ausging?
Ich schrieb mich: um Kopf und Herz!

*

Ich schrieb mich: um Kopf
und Herz – um nicht zu sagen:
um Kopf und Kragen!
War es Narzißmus, war es
die Liebe? Ich war es – selbst!

I`m ready / Right now!

I`m ready for life.
I`m ready for love. I am
ready – for more words!

*

I`m ready for some
words! I`m ready for now. I`m
ready – for today!

*

I`m ready for now.
I`m ready for tomorrow.
And: yes! I`m almost –

*

I`m almost ready –
but never really finished!
I`m ready – for more!

*

All the words appear –
and seem to be ready – but
then – some new ones come –

*

They come to my mind –
ready to be written – and
ready to be read.

*

Will I always be
ready? Will I always be
done – with all these words?

*

Do I want to be
ready? That`s the wrong question!
I don`t have the choice!

*

I`m never ready!
No! The opposite is true:
I`m ready – right now!

In between the lines / In between the letters / In between the stars

A poet can read
in between the lines, you said.
Yes, of course he can!

*

In between my lines,
there`s such a great desire –
for more and more – words!

*

In between your lines,
there is nothing but sweetness
and light, my dear friend!

*

Also in between
your letters – there seems to be
nothing – but sweetness!

*

In between your lines,
there are wide open spaces –
and several stars!

*

In between the stars,
there are plenty of words again –
waiting to appear!

It`s sweetness and light / What touches me / In the morning!

It`s sweetness and light!
you just said when I asked you
to read my poem. –
Now, this one may bring the light
of morning to you, my friend!

*

Sweetness and light – that`s
what touches me when reading
your words – for I read
your own words light and sweetness!
Go on and write some new ones!

*

Strike up that band – swing,
swing! – These were the words that made
me smile last night, when
I lay awake, my friend! – There`s
sweetness and light – and a smile!

*

Strike up your words, friend,
for they`re leaving me smiling –
and they`re leaving me
hungry and thirsty for more!
Strike up your words, friend, swing, swing!

*

Strike up your words, friend –
right now, in the morning, for
they`re making me smile –
and that`s what I need – right now!
Strike up your sweetness – and light!
